Collectable - Very Good
PREFACE
Despite its precarious finances, the dedication of its unpaid editors has now seen the Falkland Islands Journal through eighteen annual issues. The range of subjects covered has been considerable — from place names and wild cattle to the history of the Falkland Islands Company and the salvage of the "Great Britain" — yet so much interesting material remains to be published in future issues. This facsimile reprint has been produced to make available again the rare early issues, long out of print, and to provide a secure long-term financial basis for the future issues of the Journal. We must apologise for the poor quality of some of the illustrations and plead that the originals were little better. The early issues had no page numbers. These have all been paged for the reprint and an index is included for each volume. The financial assistance of the United Kingdom Falkland Islands Trust in their support for this reprint is gratefully acknowledged. R. K. Head-land undertook the onerous task of preparing the indices, and D. W. H. Walton organised the reprinting in the United Kingdom.
