PUBLISHERS NOTE
FoR some years Mr. J. A. Hunter has been compiling
personal notes on certain eperiences during his long career as
a white hunter in Afica. When chis record. comprising a large
and fascinating manuscript, was brought back from Kenya,
his publishers enlisted the aid of Me Daniel Mannis in arrang
ing Mr, Hunter's notes for book publication.
Mr. Mannis is himself a hunter of varied experience and an
author. To accomplish his task, he made a special journey last
year to Kenya where he stayed with Mr. Hunter and spent
many weeks working with him in putting the book into its
Sal shape.
