This collection of Disney Literature Classics will be enjoyed by the whole
family, young and old alike. Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are the
principal actors in situations that derive from great works by great writers.
The familiar irony, wit and magic of Disney are all present in these comic
strip tales that take familiar stories one (or two!) steps further. These
parodies will stimulate children's curiosity, and will encourage them
to read the original classics.
In this parody of Tbe Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy is replaced by Daisy Duck and the Kansas flying farm by a spooky-looking mansion. Daisy, Uncle Scrooge and his nephews are 'magicked'off to Oz in the mansion through the cunning of the wicked witch, Magica de Spell, who is in the pay of the scheming Rockerduck. They escape to reach the Cty of Emeralds, referred to here as 'the Land of Plenty' where ice-cream
grows on a bush, orangeade spouts from the carth and Uncle Scrooge is accidentally
crowned king The party has to face the Fighting Trees, but in this case tickling is all it
takes to defeat them!
