This collection of Disney Literature Classics will be enjoyed by the whole
family, young and old alike. Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are the
principal actors in situations that derive from great works by great writers.
The familiar irony, wit and magic of Disney are all present in these comic
strip tales that take familiar stories one (or two!) steps further. These
parodies will stimulate children's curiosity, and will encourage them
to read the original classics.
In the first parody of the Tales of King Artbur and Tbe Knigbts of tbe Round Table,
Mickey and Goofy are sent back to 12th century Camelot by present-day historians
to check whether the famous table really was round. There they meet King Arthur and
a group of very argumentative Knights each claiming the right to a seat - at the head
ofa rectangular table! In the second parody, King Duckthur (Arthur) turns to Gyro
Merloose (Merlin) for help against the spells of Magica De Spell (Morgan le Fey). In
the final story, Mickey becomes King of Camelot by freeing Exclobberer (Excalibur).
However, in this version, Mickey accidentally claims the throne, as all he really
wanted was a knife with which to eat his lunch.
