The Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4 is essentially based on the rear-wheel drive Sierra
RS Cosworth and the Sierra XR4X4.
High performance is ensured by the modified 2.0 1 Cosworth turbocharged engine,
featuring dual overhead camshafts and 16 valves.
In addition to the anti-lock braking system (ABS), the all-wheel drive offers an
additional safety feature. It provides optimum drive and safe vehicle handling
under the most diverse road surface conditions.
The Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4 is available in two versions which comply with either
the US 83 or the 15/o4 Emission Regulations.
The high level of development in catalytic converter technology makes it
possible to offer a low-emission US 83 version without loss in performance
compared to the 15/04 version. It is essential that only lead free fuel is used
with the US 83 version to avoid damage to the exhaust system.
