Used very good.
This collection of Disney Literature Classics will be enjoyed by the whole
family, young and old alike. Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are the
principal actors in situations that derive from great works by great writers.
The familiar irony, wit and magic of Disney are all present in these comic
strip tales that take familiar stories one (or two!) steps further. These
parodies will stimulate children's curiosity, and will encourage them
to read the original classics.
In this parody of The Adventurs ef Tom Sawyer, we have Mick(ey) Sawyer who is
always getting into trouble and being punished by Aunt Molly (in place of Aunt
Polly). Just as in the original, when she orders Mick to paint the fence around the
house on a Saturday, he succeeds in conning others into doing it for him. Goofy takes
on the role of Huckleberry Finn and the two boys also see a crime committed,
although here it is a burglary rather than a murder and takes place in a forest rather
than a cemetery. As in the book, the parody includes false accusations, rafts and
a treasure, not to mention getting lost in a cave with the pretty Minnie Thatcher.
All of these episodes will be familiar to the many fans of Mark Twain's great novel.
