This collection of Disney Literature Classics will be enjoyed by the whole
family, young and old alike. Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are the
principal actors in situations that derive from great works by great writer
The familiar irony, wit and magic of Disney are all present in these comic
strip tales that take familiar stories one (or two!) steps further. These
parodies will stimulate children's curiosity, and will encourage them
to read the original classics.
In this parody of Mir and Prace, Donald Duck becomes Duckzukov to take the part of
Peter Bezuchov in the original story, and his uncle is played by Serooge. Duckzukov
falls in love with Natascia Rostof, played by Daisy Duck parodying the penniless
Natasha Rostov, but Serooge wants his nephew to marry the wealthy Helena
Kuraghin. Donald knows enough about Helena's thoroughly unpleasant character to
want nothing to do with her, so Serooge punishes him by sending him offto work in
his foundry. War breaks out and General Kutuzof, in the role ofTolstoy's Kutuzov,
uses chess pieces to prepare his battle plan. The fighting itself is rather amusing, and
Donald designs unusual cannonballs. The end of the story unites Donald and
Natascia as it did Peter and Natasha in the original story.
